Meet your staff:
Dana C. Allen, DVM
Dr. Allen has 17 years experience in both small animal and equine medicine. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 after finishing her undergraduate at Berry College in 1988. She worked as an associte veterinarian for 5 years before opening Dawson Forest Animal Hospital in 1997. She is married with 3 kids (Deana, Heather, Keelan), 4 dogs (Gretel, Fendi, Hatti, Bruno), and 4 cats (Sushi, Saki, Tater, and Mew).
Christy Evans- Veterinary Technician
Christy joined the staff DFAH over 2 years ago. She came to us with over 8 years experience in veterinary medicine. Christy also works with our local Dawson County Animal Shelter weekly. Christy is married and has a full home of 7 two legged boys; Chaz, Camden, Brad, Ryan, Cai, Blayne and Kaden. 3 kitties and a four legged daughter by the name of Cha Cha.

Marilee Ferrante- Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant
Marilee joined our staff about a year ago. She came wiith over 10 years experience in veterinary medicine. She is our front line of patient care. She answers many calls, schedules appointments and loves to meet and greet our clients and patients. In her spare time she likes to camp, hike and fish. She has a member of our 4 legged greeting committee named Eli.
Lauren Bayles- Kennel Assistant
Lauren joined our team in 2008. She has been around farm life and animals for 9 years. Her hobbies include softball, hunting, fishing, mudding and riding horses. She has a dog named Bo and 2 rodents named Corbin and Sebastian.
Jerri Barker- Kennel Assistant
Jerri has been with Dr. Allen and DFAH since the first day we opened. She is married with a daughter, dog and two horses. She is going to a grandmother this year to her first grandchild.
Amy Thaxton- Groomer
Amy has 9 years experience. She has two daughters, Jessica and Alyssa. She also has 6 dogs, 5 cats and a rabbit.
Laurie Hutchins- Veterinary Assistant
Laurie has been with our team for 10 years. She is part time on the weekends. Laurie is a mother and a manager for Forsyth Humane Society.
Greeting Committee/Staff
These guys are our personal children. Gretel, Bruno, Eli and Cha Cha.
